This is the second study I have done with Good Morning Girls. This is a great study that walks you through Proverbs 31 verse by verse challenging you to take a serious look at how God's desire for us as woman (whether you are single, married, and/or have children). If you have never heard of Good Morning Girls and thier online studies, you can check out this blog which share how Good Morning Girls functions in way to help women stay accountable to being in God's Word daily.
Good Morning Girls is a group of women who email, facebook, twitter or text message to keep each other accountable in their quiet times. I found this study on one of my favorite blogs/websites Confessions of A Homeschooler. Needless to say, if you are like me and struggle to find quality time in the Word amidst the craziness of home life, try this study (and check out Good Morning Girls' website)... It's simple, easy and can give you little golden nuggets of scripture to chew on during your busy day! Just click on the picture to download your study... and visit the website to see a community of other women you can walk through the study with!
So this is a study that I've just recently started. A friend of mine had the seminar CDs so we've been listening to them and then getting together to chat about it. I have to be honest... although I'm not finished with the series of CDs, this is AWESOME! To read more about the CDs or purchase them ($14.95 with free shipping) click the photo. I would encourage you to check out Kathleen Neslons's website B&T Parenting also.
Women Living Well
The author of this website also created Good Morning Girls and was featured on the Rachel Ray Show a while back talking about her marriage. Her desire to to help women live well through her blogging. She has great stuff on marriage, parenting, home making, quiet times and more. I would enourage you to browse her site!
Many times we read scripture and see that God is commanding us to be a certain way or act a certain way towards our brothers, sisters, neighbors, strangers... I think it is easy as moms to get caught up in setting a Godly example to those outside the home and we easily forget that those verses apply to us as moms to our children (or wives to our husbands). As you read some of the scripture verses below, put it in the context of being a mom (or wife).... Some have been an source of encouragement to me... and some have been a reminder of what I should be modeling even in my home. (Ephasize mine)
1 John 3:16
By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers (for our children).
Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: who, being in very nature did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death - even death on a cross.
2 Corinthians 3:2
You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everybody (including our children)...
